About Black Mesa

Welcome to the Black Mesa Research Facility's Official website. Here at Black Mesa we work hard to build a better tomorrow for all mankind, just as our motto suggests. Whether it's through medical innovations, cutting-edge household technologies, or government contracts we aim to help you have a safe and productive day.

At the BMrf we employ and self-sustain a team of over 2000 employees in our state-of-the-art complex. But it's not all work all the time, on site recreational facilities, training courses, and accommodation all linked with a modern electric transit system ensure that our employees thrive in a well rounded working environment

The Black Mesa Research Facility itself was originally built on a series of decommissioned missile silo complexes constructed during the 1950s and since it's opening the complex has grown exponentially. After quickly becoming the number one institute for complex research in America, and due to it's remote nature the facility required on site accommodation. All of which further lead to the development and funding of the Black Mesa hydro electric power plant which now provides power for the housing and needs of thousands of employees.

Black Mesa is primarily a civilian research institute, although due to an official pardon of the “Government Performance and Results Act” the BMrf is able to participate in and undertake incredibly specialised and normally ambitious contracts for the US government.

Worried that your field of study requires resources from outside of New Mexico? At Black Mesa we run field study trips to hundreds of exotic locations every year and with the use of our "Field Studies Remote Access Gateway" field study teams anywhere at any time are able to upload test result data and have it automatically actioned and accessed by our staff right here in the facility. Our emploees are important to us which is why due to the nature of some of the studies undertaken here at Black Mesa we attempt to insure that the up most safety standards are adhered to. Regular radiation and biohazard screenings are some of the mandatory safety precautions we take. To insure that everyone has a safe day, we work hand in hand with the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit (HECU) at Santego Military Base, Arizona. Which due to our size and staffing population makes us the perfect candidate for HECU to run training excersise & safety drills. As a citizen of America you can rest assured that the operations undertaken by our government during a state emergency have been trialled and refined right here at Black Mesa.

Like all complex machines it is the small parts that play an integral role. Olivia Wilkins is evidence of this at Black Mesa. A member of our administration sector, a keen swimming coach and athlete, she is intelligent and proactive. Without team members like Olivia Black Mesa couldn't function.
